Welcome to Plant Grow Eat’s Community! Check out our Artist Spotlight below and use the navigation menu to see what’s new!
Our first artist is Sara Rose. She is a self-taught illustrator and muralist and is currently the Operations Manager and one of the Preferred Artists for the non-profit organization, Muralism, dedicated to connecting people with special needs to their community through art.
“I learned about Muralism through their Instagram in the summer of 2019, loved their mission and asked how I could help. One year later, I now oversee the organization with its founder Ernie Merlán. Muralism has helped me develop my artwork further and develop confidence to put it out there!”
Sara has painted over 12 murals in the past 2 years and has been commissioned for various logo designs, digital illustrations and customized clothing pieces. Sara likes to create fun, colorful art, that helps people feel connected to each other.
“My greatest desire from my artwork is for people to feel included. Growing up, always feeling "different" or left out, I now like to create art that includes topics/groups that are often left out or labeled as different (mental health, lgbtq, people with disabilities).”
When the Covid-19 health crisis struck in March, 2020, Sara took her art to the streets, thanking essential workers, reminding us that we’re in this together and to take good care of ourselves.
Plant Grow Eat and Sara Rose have partnered to offer two exclusive t-shirt designs that highlight some of our current social issues and how we can continue to make a difference — see below.
