About Plant Grow Eat

Whitney Wade grew up with terrible soil.  As a kid growing up in Los Angeles’ San Fernando Valley, nothing grew for her.  Really.  No matter how hard she tried.  But what did grow were fruit trees – peach, plum, lemon, pomegranate, avocado.  They’d been there for years, not really taken care of, and she soon learned from them.

What do plants need to grow?  They need the right conditions for them.  Sometimes that’s neglect, sometimes it’s supplementation, and sometimes it’s creating a whole different set of conditions.  That’s where container gardening comes in.  Different exposures, even within the same yard, healthy soil and the understanding of what grows in what season and in our Los Angeles conditions became an unintentional and ongoing experiment.  This is now the experience Whitney brings to every garden, large or small.

What conditions do you need in order to grow food? We can help.

Sometimes we’re fortunate enough to grow more than we can consume, which is where the initial vision of Plant Grow Eat started.  Let’s plant food, grow it in an environmentally responsible way, taking our personal and community health into account, and share.  Whether it’s sharing between families, friends, neighbors or even beyond, we have the opportunity to eat our own, organic, homegrown food.  It’s a big deal.  A privilege.  Maybe even a responsibility.

Let’s do this.  Together.

About IMG_3272.jpeg

Our philosophy is simple: slow down and take care.  Living in a big city, we lose touch with our homes and the people we care about.  Planting a garden creates connection via our yards, kitchens and tables – places we gather that are within reach.

Plant.

A vegetable garden is a great focal hub for any yard, front or back.  We’ll assess the best place to create and plant your garden with your favorite fruits and vegetables in mind, using the best, organic soil and amendments, along with our heirloom, non-GMO seeds.

Grow.

A weekly visit will ensure that your plants are healthy and protected cared for, while we replenish nutrients to yield the ultimate fresh, healthy and delicious harvest.

Eat.

There’s nothing like freshly picked, organic fruits and vegetables.  Come home to your harvested bounty and prepare your favorite dishes. Reaping the rewards of your garden is the prize at the end of the growing cycle, and the scents and flavors of freshly gathered and prepared food is what it’s all about.
